About Me
I am a wife and a mother of two young adult children. I moved to Exmoor from the Midlands about 15 years ago and I am now able to enjoy the beauty of this area on a daily basis with my devoted fury companion Flossy.
My adult life has always been based around trying to understand and help others. This started with my university training as a teacher and a degree in World Religions with a specialism in Buddhist practices including the origins of mindfulness and how this can support life’s balance. This then led to my career of 26 years as a teacher and early careers teaching mentor. As part of my teaching practice, I have completed a wide range of courses in child development, child protection, safeguarding, learning difficulties, SEND, trauma informed practice and emotional intelligence training. This has provided me with a wealth of knowledge about how individuals think, learn and grow and has given me the privilege of supporting both children and adults to build resilience, develop confidence, move forwards and achieve their goals.
I have been through a number of personal challenges in life, including the experience of having a life changing diagnosis. I therefore have great empathy and fully understand how unexpected life events and challenges can be hard to navigate.
Since finishing my career as a teacher and mentor, I have furthered my learning with additional certified training in: Holistic Health and Nutrition, Holistic Nutrition and Herbalism, Holistic uses of Aromatherapy, Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy, Building Confidence and Self Esteem, Anxiety Management, Menopause Wellness and Level 3 Diplomas in Life Coaching, Advanced Transformational Life Coaching and Positive Psychology. My learning and professional development will be ongoing as there are so many areas I want to explore in more depth.
These life and learning experiences have equipped me well with the skills needed to now be an authentic and effective Holistic Wellbeing Life Coach.
